2nd Australian Hindu Conference!
Presided by Pujya Swamiji Dayananda Saraswati & Swamiji Vigyanananda
On 11-12 April 2009, University of Western Sydney (UWS), Parramatta, NSW

The annual Australian Hindu Conference brings together Hindus and the wider Australian community to foster better understanding of the diversity of the Hindu way of life and the contribution of Hindus to the on-going well being of Australia.

We cordially invite you with family & friends to attend this inspiring event.

Conference Theme: “Sustaining Australia through strengthening bonds amongst communities”

The Conference will explore a number of areas to nurture and contribute to both our individual and collective understanding as a nation. Topics include the following:

• Uniting all Hindus in Australia coming from different countries.
• Strengthening bonds among different streams of Bharatiya Dharma (Sanatani, Jain & Sikh)
• Understanding all Dharma Civilisations such as Buddhist, Confucian, Hindu, Shinto, Taoist etc. and working together for common good.
• Strengthening bond among different schools of Hindu Dharma: Shaiva, Vaishnava, Veer-Shaiva, Sakta, Arya Samaj etc.
• Networking among Hindu organizations, institutions and temples for common good.
• Integrating Hindu temples with the Society, Family and Youth.
• Special Workshops focusing on –
Youth - Developing leadership among Hindu youth; Challenges and their responses
Women, Children and Elders - Need of Hindu Social Service to address issues of women, children and the elderly.
• Understanding Aboriginal, Hindu and Australian communities and interactions.
• Developing relations and working with Australian Government agencies, leaders etc.

VHP AUSTRALIA
VHP Australia was founded in 1989 as a volunteer-based, not-for-profit organisation.  Its Constitution regulates all its activities, and provides guidance on the election and the role of all officials. The Central Working Committee, consisting of the executive committee, founding life members is responsible for carrying out various administrative and other activities. 
   
  Objectives of the VHP Australia
Vishva Hindu Parishad of Australia was registered under Charitable Collection Act 1934 in August 1990. It has been incorporated in state of NSW on 18th November 1998. It is a non-profitable charity organisation and has following main objectives:
To provide a forum for discussions and reflection with a view to instill in Hindus settled in Australia, a devotion and respect for the principles and practices of Hindu ways of life.
To strengthen the Hindu respect for other religions, beliefs and creed so as to encourage the spirit of service to humanity at large.
To sustain and nourish all that is noble in the Hindu culture and society.
To protect, preserve and promote social, cultural and religious values of Sanatana Dharma
