Preamble
The founding fathers of this organisation envision the world as one family "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam". This vision is to spread the message of inter-dependence of human societies, nature and her environment - "Harmony with the Creation". This cosmic harmony depends on Dharma. Dharma means eternal and universal values for the well-being of all.
Objectives
To promote activities of culture, community arts, community languages, heritage, civilization, education, aid and relief to the needy, or any other activity in the advancement of general public benefits including social, cultural and scientific research.
To promote community languages such as Vedic Sanskrit (World Intangible Cultural Heritage declared by UNESCO as "outstanding oral tradition of the world")
To promote heritage educations such as Sanskrit Language, Vedic Science, Vedic Mathematics, art and crafts.
The Vishva Hindu Parishad of Australia is a community organization and strives for the ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one large family). The prime aim of Vishva Hindu Parishad of Australia is to promote the principles of Unity in Diversity, social cohesion, multiculturalism, harmony, inclusiveness and Pluralism in Australia in partnership with the local Councils, the Australian Federal and all State Governments and to promote Peace, Progress, Prosperity and social and economic benefits of Australian cultural diversity. Statement of Purpose
Vishva Hindu Parishad of Australia Inc or VHP of Australia (World Hindu Council of Australia) has been working for the community in Australia since 1996.
The Council strives for the ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (world is one family) with a team of dedicated and committed volunteers all over Australia.
VHP of Australia’s prime aim is to:
promote the principles of Unity in Diversity and multiculturalism in Australia, in partnership with the local councils, the Australian federal, state governments and other community organisations.
deliver services in the field of social service, education and cultural development
inspire and support community members to participate in preservering Hindu heritage and cultural values.
promote strong ties among various divisions to deliver services effectively by providing training, mentoring,
resource and networking opportunities.
support projects with a focus on art, culture and educational values to children and youth. VHP of Australia’s projects and activities offer clear and visible benefit to communities and contribute to their development in cultural, educational, social and community welfare. The organisation is a not for profit registered charity, works Australia wide, is headquarted in Sydney with branches in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
